The Wall That Heals

The Wall That Heals is a 375 ft. replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. It will be open 24 hours a day beginning April 16th to April 19th. Closes Sunday at 2:00 p.m. This is a free event open to the public.

Tuesday, 14 April 2026 - Welcome The Wall that Heals

FOB Del Rio welcomes The Wall That Heals as it is escorted by motorcade through the community of Del Rio. Visit our website for more information fobdelrio.com/thewallthatheals2026


Wednesday, 15 April 2026- The Wall Set Up

8:00 a.m. Construction of The Wall begins

6:00 p.m. Volunteer Training


Thursday, April 16 2026 - Welcome Home Ceremony

The Wall That Heals is open 24 hours a day to visitors. 9:00 a.m. Welcome Home Ceremony with Special guest speaker and local veteran: Bobby Barrerra. The Taps will be played at sunset each night.


Friday, April 17 2026 - Viewings and Tours

VMF will be available to provide scheduled tours to visitors. The lights for The Wall That Heals will be displayed with a candlelight and tap ceremony. The Taps will be played at sunset.


Saturday, April 18 2026- Final Roll Call

The Wall That Heals is open 24 hours to visitors. A final roll call will be conducted acknowledging Del Rio and surrounding community Vietnam KIAs for their sacrifice.


Sunday, April 19 2026 -Closing Ceremony

1:45 p.m. Closing ceremony followed by Taps

2:00 p.m. The Wall That Heals is closed.

2:00 p.m. Take-down The Wall That Heals.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have 200+ volunteer shifts to fill. Most shifts are 4 hours Snacks & water provided

Duties include:

Welcoming visitors at the welcome tent, setup, takedown, help with finding names, parking needs, assist visitors with mobility needs, assist visitors at The Wall’s mobile Education Center.
