Our Vision *

The FOB, which stands for "Finding Our Brothers and Sisters," is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in Del Rio, Texas, with a clear focus on addressing the issue of veteran homelessness. Our new facility, located at 7162 West US 90 in Del Rio, will include a recreational/outreach center, two tiny homes, and RV hookups to provide a safe and supportive environment for veterans in need.

We recognize the challenges our nation's brave men and women face when transitioning back into civilian life, and far too many of them fall into homelessness. Our mission is to break the cycle that keeps veterans trapped in these difficult circumstances, helping them reclaim their sense of duty, selfless service, integrity, and belonging. We believe every veteran deserves to live with dignity and purpose, and we are committed to ensuring they receive the support they need to rebuild their lives.

At the FOB, we take a comprehensive, multilayered approach to address the complex issue of homelessness among veterans. Our program is designed to offer much more than just a temporary solution. We start by conducting a thorough intake process to assess each veteran’s unique needs and challenges. This helps us understand their specific circumstances, including any underlying mental health, addiction, or employment issues they may be facing. Through this personalized assessment, we can tailor our support services to provide the most effective and relevant interventions.

Once the assessment is complete, we work together with each veteran to create a resolution plan. This plan outlines clear steps toward overcoming the obstacles standing in the way of their success. We focus on providing immediate relief, such as securing safe housing, as well as long-term solutions that address the root causes of homelessness. Whether it's providing access to medical care, job training, or connecting veterans with community resources, we work to remove the barriers that prevent them from leading a stable, fulfilling life.

As veterans begin to make progress, we guide them through a process of refinement. This stage emphasizes personal development and empowerment. Through counseling, life skills training, and support groups, veterans are encouraged to rediscover their strengths and rebuild their confidence. Our program fosters a sense of belonging by connecting veterans with a supportive community of peers who share similar experiences and challenges. We understand that the transition to civilian life can be isolating, and we aim to create an environment where veterans feel understood and valued.

In addition to the practical support we offer, we also strive to inspire our veterans. We encourage them to rediscover their sense of purpose and re-engage with the values that made them such dedicated service members. By focusing on the qualities of integrity, resilience, and commitment that are inherent in every veteran, we help them recognize their potential and regain a positive outlook for the future.

The goal of the FOB is successful reintegration into society. We don’t just aim to get veterans off the streets, we want to ensure they have the tools, resources, and support to thrive in the long term. Whether it's securing stable employment, furthering education, or simply rebuilding relationships with family and community, we are committed to walking alongside our veterans every step of the way. With compassion and dedication, the FOB is determined to help our brothers and sisters find their way home, both to a place of stability and a renewed sense of purpose.
